Background

Properties

White or slightly yellow crystalline powder, slightly odorous, bitter, soluble in water, hygroscopic, very stable and heat resistant in dry state, its aqueous solution is quite stable at pH 2-6, and its neutral solution is placed at room temperature. Week does not affect the titer.

Function and use

This product is anti-gram-negative bacillus antibiotic, has a bactericidal effect, has strong antibacterial effect on most Gram-negative bacilli, and has a more significant effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa. For Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Influenza, Pertussis Bacillus, aerogens and pneumoniae also have a good effect. However, Proteus is not sensitive to this product. It is mainly used for the treatment of Gram-negative bacterial infections, especially various infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, such as respiratory infection, peritonitis, bile duct infection, urinary tract infection, burn infection, corneal infection and sepsis. It has a good antibacterial effect on most Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria in aquaculture animals and is an ideal drug for the prevention and treatment of bacterial diseases. This product is hardly absorbed by the digestive tract of livestock and poultry. It has rapid excretion, no residual tissue, little toxicity, no side effects, and is not easy to produce resistant strains. It is one of the safest antibiotics for livestock and poultry.

The mechanism of its bactericidal action is to change the permeability of bacterial cell membranes. The chemical structure of colistin contains a positively charged free amino group, which binds to the negatively charged phosphate in the phospholipid of the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, impairing the function of the membrane and making important components in the bacterium. Usage and Dosage
1. Mixed feeding of livestock and poultry: 5-40g for cattle (breastfeeding), 2-20g for pigs (breastfeeding), 2-20g for pigs; 2, aquatic animal mix: 5-10g per 100kg of bait, for use 5-7 days, the amount of prevention is halved; medicated bath: 5-10g per cubic meter of water, soaked for 30-60 minutes, used for 5-7 days.
